Terms & Conditions

Last updated

Preloved, meaning the app and preloved.co.id, is run by PT Preloved & Thrift Indonesia. On this page we call ourselves "Preloved", "we" or "us". Once you create an account or start using Preloved, you're agreeing to the rules below and to our Privacy Policy.

There's an Indonesian version of this page too. If the two ever say different things, the Indonesian one is the one that counts.

Your account

Use your real details when you sign up and keep them current. One person gets one account. Borrowing someone else's account is off limits, and so is selling yours.

Keep your password to yourself. Whatever happens on your account, we'll assume it was you. Now and then, say on a particular purchase or before a payout, we might ask you to verify who you are.

What Preloved does

Preloved is where people sell their preloved stuff and other people buy it. Unless we say so, nothing listed here belongs to us and we aren't the seller.

Pay with the Buy button and your money sits with us until the order is done; only then does the seller get it. Basically escrow. Is every item genuine, in good shape and safe? We honestly can't check them all. If something's off, though, the complaint process further down is how we help fix it.

Selling

If it isn't yours, or the law says you can't sell it, don't list it. Describe the item as it really is, from the size to the condition, and photograph the actual thing rather than using stock pictures.

Fakes, illegal goods, stolen goods and anything dangerous can't be sold. The full list is under prohibited items.

When something sells, pack it and get it to the courier on schedule. Orders that sit unprocessed for too long can be cancelled. Cancelling an order yourself has consequences too: your account automatically gets a 1-star review, and if it keeps happening we may take further action.

Need a break from selling? Turn on Vacation Mode and all your items stay hidden until you switch it off.

Buying

Until your payment goes through, the item isn't yours yet. A spot in your cart doesn't reserve it, and an accepted offer doesn't commit the seller either.

There's a daily limit on offers. Haggle, sure, but be nice about it.

At checkout you're paying for the item and the shipping, and for shipping insurance only if you tick it. There's no service fee on the buyer's side.

Once your item arrives, mark the order as complete. If you neither confirm nor complain within 2 days of the status changing to delivered, the order completes on its own.

Fees

Listing on Preloved is free. We only take a fee, out of the sale proceeds, when your item sells through the Buy button. It's worked out on the item price after any discount or agreed offer. Shipping isn't included.

  • Orders paid before 1 January 2027: 5%.
  • Orders paid on or after 1 January 2027, 00:00 WIB (Western Indonesia Time): 9%.

What counts is the rate in effect when the order was paid. If an order is cancelled and the buyer gets their money back, you get the Preloved fee back as well. Cashing out your balance to a bank or e-wallet comes with a transfer fee charged by the payment provider, see Transfer fees.

If our fees change again, we'll announce it at least 3 months ahead, on the Preloved fees page and here.

Payments, balance and payouts

Payments are handled by our payment partners, and we never keep your full card details.

Money from your sales lands in your Preloved Balance once the order is complete, and so do approved refunds. You can spend it on Preloved or cash it out to a verified bank account or e-wallet in your own name. Bear in mind the Preloved Balance isn't a savings account or electronic money, so it doesn't earn interest.

While a complaint is open, while we're looking into suspected fraud, or when the authorities ask us to, we may hold your balance or a payout for a while.

Shipping

The buyer picks the courier at checkout. Sellers have to pack items properly and buyers have to give a correct address. If the courier is late or something gets damaged on the way, we deal with it through the complaint process, and through shipping insurance where there is any.

Complaints, refunds and returns

Parcel never arrived, got damaged on the way, or isn't anything like the description? Open a complaint from the order page within 2 days of the status changing to delivered, and include the evidence we ask for.

We look at what both sides send us and then decide: a refund, a return, or releasing the money to the seller. The money stays on hold while that's going on. Our Refund Policy and Buyer Protection pages go into the details.

None of this covers deals made outside Preloved, prohibited items, or complaints opened after the deadline.

Reviews

Keep reviews honest and about the transaction itself. Once a review is posted, it can't be edited.

If nobody has left a review for a completed order by the time the review window closes, our system adds a 5-star review with no comment.

We may take down reviews that include personal data, threats, insults, promotion or anything unrelated to the transaction.

Chat

Preloved chat is for talking about items and orders. To keep things safe, our system automatically filters out links, phone numbers and certain words in chat, and strips phone numbers from listings and bios. Our team may read chats that get reported, or that relate to a complaint or suspected fraud.

What's not allowed

Don't try to take a deal off Preloved for an item you found on Preloved. Any kind of fraud is out too, whether that's phishing, fake payment receipts, or pretending to be someone else or to be Preloved.

The same goes for fake accounts, spare accounts used to dodge a ban, and gaming reviews, likes or offers. Harassment, hate speech, threats and spam aren't allowed either. Lastly, don't scrape data from Preloved, interfere with our systems, or exploit security holes.

Your content

Whatever photos and descriptions you upload are still yours. Uploading them does give Preloved permission to store, show, resize and use them, both to run the platform and to promote it, social media and ads included. That permission is non-exclusive, free of charge, applies worldwide, and lasts for as long as the content is on Preloved.

Every listing gets checked automatically, including any text in its photos, to catch scams and prohibited items.

When we take action

Breaking these rules or the law can lead to listings being removed or hidden, your account being flagged so its listings get less visibility, your account being frozen, your balance being held for a while, or your account being closed for good. Where we can, we'll tell you why.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account whenever you like, as long as you have no orders in progress and your Preloved Balance is at Rp0. What we still keep afterwards is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for items sold by users, for what other users do, or for courier delays and damage beyond the complaint process described above. We're also not liable for indirect losses. None of this takes away your rights as a consumer under Indonesian law.

Changes

Preloved's features and these terms can change. For important changes, we'll let you know through the app, by email or on this page before they kick in. Fee changes always come with at least 3 months' notice, as set out under Fees. If you carry on using Preloved after a change takes effect, you're taken to have accepted it.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. If we disagree about something, let's try to work it out first, so email us at [email protected]. If that doesn't resolve it, the dispute goes to the South Jakarta District Court (Pengadilan Negeri Jakarta Selatan). You keep your right to use any consumer dispute resolution available to you under the law.
